CANCELLED 2025 4th of July Celebration

The Spreckels Veterans Memorial District Board has had to make the difficult decision to CANCEL this year's 4th of July celebration. The decision was made after much discussion and review of last year's event in 2024. The District has suffered increasing losses from year to year and encountered numerous issues with the Monterey County permitting process and requirements. The increase in the fee schedules and required permits, along with additional various County agency requirements and restrictions have made the event unattainable for many vendors and non-profit organizations that used to fund raise at this event.

Last year the only non-profit organization participating dropped out three days before the event due to fees and additional costly requirements that would have exceeded revenue. The creation of the Spreckels 4th of July event was to specifically be a fundraiser for area non-profit organizations, and 2024 was the first time the Spreckels 4th of July event did not have even one particpating non-profit organization aside from the SVMD.

The event is on an indefinite hold and the SVMD is actively seeking solutions for the event to resume and continue as a beloved Spreckels tradition.  The SVMD is reminding the public wishing to visit Spreckels on the 4th of July to please respect the posted Spreckels Memorial Park rules of No Alcohol and No Amplified Music. With no special event taking place alcohol and amplified music are prohibited.  We wish everyone a safe and joyous summer!
